Every seat tells a story
Every seat tells a story. Stories of the people who sit in them, the games they enjoyed, the laughter, the tears, the memories, the magic.
Speaking at the recent launch of the ‘Take a Seat’ Campaign, St. Eunan’s chairman Cathal Greene said “Our fundraising initiatives have resulted in the further enhancement of our magnificent facilities, and coming eighty years after St Eunan’s first moved to O’Donnell Park, it’s an appropriate way to honour those who had the foresight to buy the lands for the club all those years ago. The beneficiaries of these new facilities will ultimately be our entire county and its local communities, which is in keeping with the strong ethos of CLG,”
The new state-of-the-art floodlit 4G pitch and hurling wall which are now open and available for booking at St Eunan’s GAA club in O’Donnell Park, cost the club approx. €350,000 and the club received great help and support for the house draw from the GAA community across the county and further afield. Hopefully many of them can benefit from these fantastic new facilities in O’Donnell Park now and in the future.
However, Mr. Greene continued “complacency is tomorrows worst enemy. As a progressive club we are always striving to improve our facilities for future generations to come which is why we have launched the “Take a Seat” campaign to help finish the great work which has started.
“This year, as we’ve celebrated the 80th anniversary of the opening of O’Donnell Park, we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of personal stories and memories we’ve received, highlighting the significance the Club has played in so many people’s lives. The Clubs new fundraising campaign offers individuals, families and businesses the chance to sponsor a seat for €100 and receive an engraved plaque with a dedication of your choice in place for the lifetime of the seat (max. 50 characters) and a certificate of sponsorship.
We’re asking the public to seize this moment to help secure the future and create more special memories and experiences for their friends, families and future generations.”
